Indiana Company Empowers Local Businesses to Be Compliant with Liquor Laws
Safe Servers of Indiana increases alcohol awareness throughout Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, May 26, 2010 – Safe Servers of Indiana, an Indianapolis-based alcohol server training organization, recently launched their “Train the Trainer” program to empower Indiana alcoholic establishments to maintain compliance with liquor laws mandated by the Alcohol & Tobacco Commission.
“We are working to alleviate misinformation regarding liquor laws” says Director David McRee. “We are astonished to see how many employees who serve alcoholic beverages are not aware of some of the basic laws and legal responsibilities for serving alcohol”.
The Alcohol and Tobacco Commission is diligent in surveying alcoholic establishments’ serving practices, and implications for violations are increasingly stringent, especially for serving alcohol to minors or intoxicated patrons. To support alcohol awareness and responsible alcohol service in Indiana, Safe Servers of Indiana is offering a Train the Trainer program so that owners, managers and training supervisors of restaurants, bars and clubs may train their own servers and bartending staff to understand and be compliant with current alcoholic beverage laws and practices.
There are nearly 160,000 licensed servers in Indiana, all of whom are required to attend a certified alcohol server training program. By empowering local establishments to train their own staff, businesses can ensure firsthand the knowledge accuracy and accountability of their serving staff. The Train the Trainer program provides economic incentives to businesses by reducing redundant training costs and helping avoid costly fines for server violations.
The program has successfully been launched. Safe Servers of Indiana anticipates an increase in outreach for alcohol awareness.
