If I took the Safe Servers alcohol server training course before I was 21, do I need to take it again when I finally turn 21?
No. Your certification is good for three years -- just be sure to take the Safe Servers class again once your certification expires!

Do I have to take the Safe Servers class in my district? Can I take it in another district?
You are free to take the Safe Servers of Indiana alcohol server training course in any district you would like. If you live in Bloomington but would like to take a class in Fort Wayne, feel free! All you need is your state-issue photo ID and $25 cash or money order!

If I'm an owner, do I still need to take the Safe Servers class?
Yes. If you plan on serving alcohol in the state of Indiana, even if you are the owner of your establishment, you need to take an ATC-certified alcohol server training course.

What types of payment do you accept?
Safe Servers of Indiana currently accepts cash, money orders, and business checks; no personal checks or credit/debit cards.
As of May 1st, 2013, you will be able to register and pay for a class on our website using a credit card!

What do I need to bring to a class?
To attend a Safe Servers of Indiana alcohol server training course, you need to bring your government-issued photo ID and $25 cash or money order. We do not currently accept personal checks or credit/debit cards.
We do not check employee permits or expired AST certificates -- just your photo ID!

I'm a volunteer employee permit holder, do I still have to take the class every three years?
Yes. In the state of Indiana, volunteer employee permit holders must still take the alcohol server training course every three years!

Why should I take this course?
The course is REQUIRED BY LAW in the state of Indiana. ALL current employee permit holders in the state of Indiana will have to attend an approved ATC certified server training course within 120 days of initial employment per IC 7.1-3-1.5-13. This means that all current employee permit holders working for a dealer or retailer establishment as defined in IC 7.1-3-1.5-2 (package liquor store) and IC 7.1-3-1.5-4 (beer retailer, wine retailer, liquor retailer) must attend an ATC approved server training course to come into compliance with the statute.

Which retailer and dealer permits does the training mandate affect?
It affects all beer, wine and liquor retailer permits and all package store permits. Grocery store and drug store employees are exempt from attending this class.

How much does the alcohol server course cost?
The standard fee is $25.00 per student. Payment is due on the day of class.
